Welcome to Studio Village Community Centre and the Village Family Support Program

My name is Nikki and I am Family Support Worker here at Village Community Services. I provide support, referral or information both individually or with parenting couples.

Do you wish you had someone you could talk to about stuff, understanding, non-judgemental

with perhaps some ideas on what you could do differently or where you could go for more assistance? Call me, Nikki, to find out if I could be the one to support you.

I also facilitate a number of parenting education courses.

Parent courses run during school terms.

Please call and introduce yourself to obtain or download the enrolment form.

This needs to be completed and paid before the program commences to hold your place.

All programs (except Triple P) are at minimal costs, at just $15 per course.

Details of these courses are listed below.
MOVE WITH SONG for parents/carers and children aged 18mths-5yrs (siblings welcome) is a fun program where you can learn some new songs and actions and get your little one up and moving to the beat! Learn ways to connect and have fun and see the joy as your children learn the actions and words as they develop other skills too. Please bring a healthy snack for your child. One hour Mondays 9:15 am.

Various Playgroups – see Current Programs in the Family Support link above

Bringing Up Great Kids. A four session program of three hours per session assisting parents to identify the messagesthey want to convey to their children, and understand the messages the children are communicating. It is a reflective program which highlights mindfulness as a strategy to stay in the moment and keep connected with your child.

1-2-3 Magic & Emotion Coaching. This is a three session program to help parents manage children’s difficult behaviour while assisting children to build the skills needed to manage their own behaviour and develop an understanding of their emotions.

If misbehaviour follows out of control emotion, managing that emotion is critical, for now and the future.

Engaging Adolescents. A three session program to equip parents with new strategies for resolving teenage behaviour problems. Check out what is a reasonable expectation, understand adolescence, use the three option model for decision making, build your relationship, and gain skills for tough conversations when problems can’t be ignored.
